Bar Goldener Hirsch

Guests walking into the Bar Goldener Hirsch can expect a continuation of the hotel's traditional motif as stags are affixed above the arches on white walls. Dispersed among the tables covered in hand woven linens are fauteuil arm chairs, just right for basking in the open sky ambience.

Originally an inner courtyard where horses would await their owners' return, the space is now considered one of the world's most beautifully outfitted "Bauernstil" rooms, and is a favorite of distinguished, international travelers.    

The extensive cocktail and fine wine list is marked by the "Rendezvous with Susanne," the bar's most well-known drink. As legend has it, young Susanne frequented the bar with her parents for many years, ordering orange juice. As time moved on, the renowned bartender Kurti added a bit of Cassis. When Susanne was 13-years-old, tonic water was added, Campari at 16, and Vodka at 18. Today the drink is called "Susanne," and a specialty that regular guests look forward to.

Troughout the year a well-known institution in Salzburg, the bar is especially bustling during festival season as the preferred pre and post-concert stop: a place to see, be seen, and unwind.
